Enhancing Geography Education in Washington State

Wow, what an amazing time! We had 22 teachers, mostly from the Western side of the state, in attendance at our 2008 Summer Institute.

A variety of speakers gave presentations ranging from salmon and water resources to literature and geography.

We spent three days indoors (a tough time, considering that the entire week had beautiful blue sky weather) and two days in the field, traveling from Kent south to Enumclaw on one day and spending the other day going from Kent into West Seattle.

Thanks to all of the attendees and presenters for making our 2008 Summer Institute such a success for geography education!

Tim,

Fantastic pictures and what a week! The Washington Geographic Alliance is such an outstanding organization to be involved in. Dedicated, enthusiastic teachers that inspire you when you have the opportunity to participate in a Summer Institute such as this one.

Tim, you're leadership of the Alliance and the Summer Institute are outstanding. Again, "Thank you!"

In a few days I'll be posting about my involvement in the 2008 Summer Geography Institute with National Geographic in Washington, D.C. from July 12th through the 19th.
